If you haven't heard, today is the first official day of our fall fundraiser. We kicked the day off with a bang, asking for $20,000 in donations from 7-8 a.m. It was a fast-paced hour of matching dollars and phones ringing off the hook. We were able to reach our goal in that first hour, and you won't hear us fundraising on-air for the rest of the day.
The staff at WRVO also want to give a shout out to the new members who stepped up during the special challenge today. We took calls and online donations from at least 45 new members. Welcome to the WRVO family! And thank you for supporting us for the first time.
Our member pool isn't off the hook yet! You'll hear various challenge hours throughout the fundraiser -- sometimes for a few hundred dollars and sometimes for a few thousand -- so keep an ear on the radio until next Thursday, October 22.
