"A visibly shaken" Chancellor Linda Katehi, as The Davis Enterprise says, apologized publicly Monday for the now-infamous pepper-spraying of Occupy UC Davis protesters by campus police last Friday.
The Enterprise is sharing video of Katehi's emotional statement, before a large crowd of University of California, Davis, students. During it, she tells them that "if you think you don't want to be students of a university like we had on Friday, I'm just telling you, I don't want to be the chancellor of the university we had on Friday."
She did not respond to the calls of "resign" that could be heard from some in the crowd. Katehi told KQED on Monday that she does not plan to step down.
