Geneva Music Festival 2023: The Brothers Blue

Geneva Music Festival 2023: The Brothers Blue

Geneva Music Festival 2023: Gods, Myths and the Divine

Music and faith have been closely linked throughout history, often reinforcing and inspiring one another. In his fourth-century autobiography Confessions, Saint Augustine described how the singing of hymns moved him spiritually and emotionally. Composers have continued to create countless works devoted to, animated by, or in service of their religious beliefs. This season, join us for an exploration of the deep and fruitful relationship between music and the Divine.

Sunday, June 11 The Brothers Blue

Matthew Sperber, guitar, bass; Benny Haravitch, banjo, bass, guitar; Charlie Coughlin, fiddle, mandolin

Geneva On The Lake, 2:00 pm [Light fare available for purchase from 12 - 2 pm]

Rooted in the fertile tradition of old-time fiddle music, The Brothers Blue grow a sound all their own – offering a hybrid that unites fresh, original songwriting with elements from country, bluegrass, Cajun, and Irish music. They weave three-part harmonies through a rich tapestry of fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Whether around a campfire or in a concert hall, the band is excited for any opportunity to share honest, heartfelt musical experiences with their ever-growing family of friends: The Brethren Blue.
