Rep. Dan Maffei (D-Syracuse) announced his "30 Days" plan to comapaign against Republican John Katko

With five weeks until election day, Rep. Dan Maffei’s reelection campaign is embarking on a campaign strategy called “30 Days and 30 Ways John Katko is Too Reckless and Radical for Central New York.”

Maffei, a Democrat, is running for his third term in Congress, and says the idea is to outline differences between him, and Republican nominee John Katko. Week one focuses on the candidate’s jobs agenda.  Maffei says he has a record and accuses Katko of having nothing but a one-page jobs document.

“The key thing here is to have substantive answers to central New Yorkers challenges as we move forward.  And that is what this thing is all about -- to make sure people do understand the big contrast between myself  and the work I’ve done, and the empty promises of John Katko,” said Maffei.

In the latest public poll, Maffei leads Katko by about eight points in the 24th Congressional District that includes Onondaga , Wayne, Cayuga and Oswego Counties.
