Amber Alert for missing 14-year-old in Rochester has been canceled

UPDATE: 12:40pm Tuesday: The Amber Alert for 14 year old Joanna Coates has been canceled.  Rochester Police say that Coates and Robert Gonzalez have been located. RPD is working on getting them back to Rochester.

-----------------------------------------

Rochester Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 14-year-old girl.

They say that Joanna Coates, who is from Rochester, has been missing since Saturday, and is believed to be with 41-year-old Robert Gonazalez of Rochester.

Authorities say the two may  have left the Rochester area and they are currently following up on leads.

Joanna Coates is described as a white female, with blue eyes and they say her hair color is now purple. She is 5’4”, weighs 100 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue Nike shirt, black leggings, and Timberland boots.

Robert Gonzazles is described as an Hispanic male,

with black hair and brown eyes, balding, 6’ tall, weighing 185 pounds.

The Amber Alert is a result of an  investigation that began Monday afternoon about child abduction that happened on Lasalle street at about 7 p.m. on Saturday.

They say the suspect was last seen traveling southeast, possibly heading for New York City. And authorities say that Coates was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe she is in ‘imminent danger of serious harm or death.’

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.
