(New York State) – Governor Pataki was easily re-elected over Democrat Carl McCall and Independent Thomas Golisano.

As expected, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer kept his job, beating Dora Irizarry.

Democrat Alan Hevesi is the state's new comptroller. He replaces Carl McCall, who gave up the job to run for Governor.

Locally, Jim Walsh, John McHugh, and Sherwood Boehlert will all be re-elected to the House of Representatives.

Joan Christensen beat fellow incumbent Bill Sanford in the 119th District Assembly race.

Republican Will Barclay will be Oswego's new assemblyman. He beat Clyde Ohl in the 124th District race.

In the 121st Assembly district, Republican Jeff Brown beat Democrat Stephen Delaney.
