A panel of experts advising the Food and Drug Administration weighs the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna in a daylong public meeting. A committee vote will guide the FDA's decision about authorizing the vaccine for emergency use during the pandemic. The public meeting began at approximately 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 17 and will continue throughout the day.
