For the first time the Democratic and Republican National Conventions will be mostly virtual. NPR and WRVO will provide live special coverage of the Democratic National Convention from Monday, August 17 - Thursday, August 20. Listen on-air and online each night from 9 – 11:30 p.m. EST. NPR will also provide a separate liveblog analysis for each day of the convention that will be available on WRVO’s homepage. Note that there will be no 9 p.m. hour of “Q” on those days and “Tuned to Yesterday” will air from 11:30 p.m. – midnight only. You can hear a full two hours of "Tuned to Yesterday" from 8 - 10:00 p.m. each evening on WRVO-2. WRVO-2 is available online and with the free WRVO app.
Each night members of the Democratic party are expected to speak.
Monday: Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, former first lady Michelle Obama, Senator Amy Klobuchar and former Governor John Kasich
Tuesday: New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former President Bill Clinton and Dr. Jill Biden
Wednesday: Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Elizabeth Warren, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama
Thursday: Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, Senator Cory Booker and former Mayor Pete Buttigieg
Joe Biden is formally accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination for president on Thursday. NPR reporters will provide live analysis of his remarks, on-air and online.
NPR and WRVO will also provide live special coverage of the upcoming Republican National Convention. More details of that coverage will be available as the schedule for the convention is announced.
