For more than two decades, Tom and Ray Magliozzi (aka Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers) were America's funniest auto mechanics. They made more than 4 million weekly listeners laugh, and became the defining voices of public radio weekends.

Even with the passing of Tom Magliozzi, the show continues -- with some of the best moments heard on Car Talk through the years.

With a mixture of honesty, authenticity, knowledge, and humor, the brothers won numerous awards (including a Peabody), accolades from every major national publication, and the loyalty of millions of public radio listeners.

From Station Manager Bill Drake:

I have been working in public radio, in some way, since the mid-1980s. Since that time, I have never known public radio without “Car Talk.” But, alas, all good things must come to an end. As of October, "The Best of Car Talk" will leave the WRVO schedule.

Tom Magliozzi who, along with his brother Ray, hosted NPR’s hit comedy show Car Talk for the last 37 years, died Monday morning, November 3, 2014, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. “Turns out he wasn’t kidding,” said Ray. “He really couldn’t remember last week’s puzzler.”
