ALBANY, NY – Governor Andrew Cuomo made good on his promise to close prisons. Thursday, he announced the list of prisons that will be shut down.
There is some celebration in the North Country, where the state prison in Ogdensburg had been saved from closure once before. It was not on the list this time.
But a medium security prison near Rome and a minimum security prison in Madison County both made the closing list.
