Some Clerks Will Work Overtime, Others Quit For Marriage Equality

By Joyce Gramza

Oswego, NY – Many municipal clerks statewide say they'll open at least part of the day on Sunday so same-sex couples can get marriage licenses ASAP.

But as WRVO's Joyce Gramza reports, for some clerks, the law taking effect Sunday is a tenure-ender.

Granby Town Clerk Ruth Sheldon is the second clerk in the state to resign in response to the marriage equality law.
