SU grad injured in Colorado shooting

A Syracuse University graduate was among those injured in a Colorado movie theater shooting.

Stephen Barton is in a hospital in Colorado recovering from surgery. His brother David Barton tells WRVO News that Stephen is doing well and is in high spirits.

Stephen Barton was struck in the neck, chest and arm by pellets from a shotgun. He was traveling through Colorado while on a cross-country bicycle tour he embarked on after graduating from SU in May.

Barton's brother says their parents have traveled to Colorado to be by Stephen's side.

Barton spoke at the SU graduation ceremony this spring. Barton was awarded a Fullbright scholarship and is planning to go to Russia in the fall to teach English.
