During radio's golden era, one of the most listened-to and award-winning dramatic shows on the air was the long-running anthology series, "Suspense." It not only brought listeners to the edge of their seat, but invited many actors who weren't necessarily well-known in dramatic roles to show their skills in a kind of play that would put their reputation aside (or sometimes play off of it) and deliver a really entertaining half-hour of radio.
The "Door to Suspense" series on "Tuned to Yesterday" presents actors like Judy Garland, Jack Benny, Bob Hope and Lucille Ball in the shows they were best known for, followed by their appearance on radio's outstanding theater of thrills. This limited series begins on June 1, 2022, and airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on WRVO, and on-demand online and with the WRVO app.
