Reed collapses in Washington, D.C. just before interview

Rep. Tom Reed (R-Corning) collapsed just prior to a television appearance in Washington, D.C.Thursday afternoon. It happened in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building.

Various media outlets, including Spectrum News reporter Samantha-Jo Roth, have reported that Reed collapsed just before an appearance on Fox.

Roth tweetedthat the Southern Tier Republican was conscious and speaking before paramedics arrived.

Reed's press secretary, Will Reinert released this statement:

"Tom is in good condition, responsive, and being checked out by medical personnel following today's fall."                        

The 47-year-old Reed was first elected in 2010.
