IT company will keep offices in Syracuse thanks to tax break

An IT company will keep its local offices in Syracuse and create more jobs thanks to a state tax break.

The Empire State Development Corporation is giving ShoreGroup $3 million in tax credits over the next 5 years to expand its footprint and job force in Syracuse. In return, ShoreGroup will move out of its offices in Franklin Square to a bigger location somewhere in Onondaga County. The statement from the Governor did not say exactly where the new space will be. It will also hire 200 new workers.

New York City-based ShoreGroup says without the credits it would have had to send most of its current workers here out of the state.

113 employees in Syracuse work on software development and services.
