Exploring Historical Changes in Tree Covering Across Utica
Carl A. Rubino Hamilton at The Other Side Series welcomes Heather Kropp, Asst. Prof. Environmental Studies
Wednesday, March 26, 7:30 p.m. at The Other Side, 2011 Genesee St., Utica
Urban tree cover and greenspaces offer a wide array of social benefits and play a critical role in cooling the land surface during the summer. Changes in tree cover are largely shaped by historical urban planning decisions, landowner preferences, and biological processes. Professor Kropp explores the implications of these changes for urban heat and access to greenspaces across Utica.
