Funny FB Page Founder to Speak!
What do you do when the life you’d imagined for yourself is stuck in committee? Join us for the story of the UU Hysterical Society…The practical joke that accidentally turned into a 280,000-person UU community on Facebook. It’s a story of feeling lost, finding yourself, and UUism-outside-the-box with UUHS founder Liz James.
Liz James will be giving a presentation called “Inherent Mirth and Dignity” on Sunday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 1330 Gotham Street, Watertown. The public is cordially invited to attend. You don’t have to be a “UU” to attend. You don’t even have to have a Facebook account to enjoy her humorous presentation.
Most of the hundreds of posts that have appeared on the UUHS page are submitted by its followers. They tend to be very visual, and the comments are sometimes better than the post itself! The page moderators very carefully curate the posts and comments so meanness, rants and politics are not allowed. It’s one of the most enjoyable pages on Facebook!
