Wedding the Waters: Canal Ride & Celebration

Wedding the Waters: Canal Ride & Celebration

Join us for a celebratory ride as we tour new sections of trail that were recently completed as part of the Empire State Trail project connecting the Towns of Camillus and DeWitt through the City of Syracuse. Participants will meet at 9:30 a.m. and depart from either Reed Webster Park at Warners Road in Camillus, or the Old Erie Canal State Park trailhead at Butternut Drive in DeWitt. From the two departure points, riders will meet at the Erie Canal Museum in Downtown Syracuse. Each group of riders will bring water from the watered sections of the Historical Erie Canal in Camillus and DeWitt and they will be “wed” together at the Erie Canal Museum in Downtown Syracuse. This ride is open to all abilities, there are some sections where the riders will be on the road in established bike lanes.

The ride will end at 11:30 a.m. at the Museum, where guests are invited to the Locktender’s Garden for a live performance from Harmonic Dirt Duo until 1:30! Please register in advance at: https://www.ptny.org/events/wedding-the-waters-ride
