Old time radio returns to the movies with 'Murder, My Sweet'

“Tuned to Yesterday: At the Movies” returns this June featuring the 1944 film, “Murder, My Sweet” at the Auburn Public Theater. Join us on Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. for a pre-movie presentation, a screening of the film and a reception.

Before the movie begins, Mark Lavonier, host of WRVO’s old time radio program “Tuned to Yesterday” will uncover the great transformation of a performer. In “Murder, My Sweet,” Dick Powell -- playing private eye Philip Marlowe -- is hired to look for a crook’s former girlfriend. We’ll trace Powell’s journey from musical comedy performer to noir actor.

Stick around for some light fare and beverages after the film with other guests. This event is free and open to the public, no tickets required. We look forward to seeing you in June!
