Rochester, NY – The Rochester Institute of Technology is teaming up with the CIA.
The Intelligence Agency wants researchers at RIT to continue it's work on tiny batteries known as "nanopower sources."
The CIA thinks the small, lightweight sources of power will help soldiers in the field with an increasing amount of technical gadgetry.
CIA's chief scientist, John Phillips, visited RIT last year and was interested in the nanopower research. The CIA requested more information about RIT's research into microelectronic fuel cells and lithium ion batteries.
Phillip's request could mean more government work for RIT. The college already does about 7 million dollars of government work each year.
