Sen. Hiram Monserrate Found Not Guilty of Felony Assault Charges

Albany, NY – Senator Hiram Monserrate was found not guilty of felony assault charges against his girlfriend, and will not be automatically expelled from the State Senate, but Monserrate was convicted of a misdemeanor, and could face jail time. Senate Leaders say they are discussing whether to begin their own actions to remove the Queens Democrat from his post.
