Millard Fillmore Commemorated on New Coin

By Ryan Morden

Oswego, NY – Millard Fillmore, the thirteenth President of the United States and native of Cayuga County, will be commemorated on the newest U.S. dollar coin.

An unveiling of the new coin is planned for Thursday at Moravia Central School.

The public is invited to attend the event. Those 18 and younger will receive a free coin, while other attendees can exchange a dollar bill for the new coin.

Fillmore is the only president born in central New York and served from 1850 to 1853.
