Vermont – The source of a tritium leak at Entergy's James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant near Oswego is still under investigation.
Plant officials say the amount of tritium has gone down since the original report last month.
Workers and the public are not at risk according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission Officials.
Meanwhile, a 38-year-old nuclear power plant in southern Vermont is under scrutiny as it seeks permission to operate for another two decades past its scheduled shutdown date.
Vermont is the only state in the country that gives its lawmakers the final say on whether a nuclear plant gets a new license.
Recent tritium leaks, and news that plant officials may have misled state officials, have put the plants future in doubt.
Part of collaboration with Northeast stations, John Dillon of Vermont Public Radio reports.
