Oswego, NY – Oren Lyons is Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan of the Onondaga Nation. In this conversation he relates the governance structure and decision-making processes of the Nation, and how they are woven into the Nation's spiritual heritage as a complete way of life--one that emphasizes respect and consensus. It's especially relevant to today's political environment of divisiveness and hostility. Lyons also explains why the Nation chose not to pursue gambling and casinos as a source of income, and its recent involvement with the Hydrofracking issue.
