Community calendar: Keeping events updated in the weeks to come

Leah Landry
/
WRVO
You can expect many changes to community events across upstate New York in the coming weeks.

Many listeners and community members in central and northern New York rely on WRVO's community event calendar to find out what's happening each week and to promote their organization's events. In the coming weeks, we expect quite a few postponements or cancelations of events in our region due to new regulations and best practices during this coronavirus outbreak.

WRVO will continue to do our best to keep our event calendar up-to-date, but we do rely on outside submissions for the bulk of our listed events and can't guarantee that each event will take place as listed. If you need to make changes to a current listing, please contact Digital Coordinator Kelly Nickerson. We have a couple of options for canceled or postponed events:

  • We can adjust the title of your event to indicate it has been canceled. In this case, the event will continue to be displayed on the calendar until its date of expiration, or...
  • We can delete the event altogether -- removing it completely from the event calendar.

If you're a member of an organization who regularly submits events, please help us keep WRVO's community event calendar accurate in the weeks to come. Feel free to submit any new notes, qualifications or event descriptions as our community deals with changes to the way we socialize and gather. Questions are welcome, too. Thanks for your patience.

Recent cuts to federal funding are challenging our mission to serve central and upstate New York with trusted journalism, vital local coverage, and the diverse programming that informs and connects our communities. This is the moment to join our community of supporters and help keep journalists on the ground, asking hard questions that matter to our region.

Stand with public media and make your gift today—not just for yourself, but for all who depend on WRVO as a trusted resource and civic cornerstone in central and upstate New York.
