IT’S A CONCERT! IT’S A CAFÉ! IT’S A BOOKSHOP! IT’S A RUMMAGE SALE! The Cortland Coffeehouse PLUS at the Unitarian Church at 3 Church St. in Cortland, NY, offers live music, refreshments, and its own bookstore and rummage sale. Admission is $5, and dinner, snacks, and desserts are available for purchase.

Our performer this month will be singer-songwriter Patty Francis. Patty has been playing guitar since she was 12, and she has been writing songs for more than 50 years. Her songs are deeply personal, sad on the surface but almost always containing one small kernel of hope and joy. Mostly she uses songwriting as a means of understanding herself and the world she's living in at that point in time. Prevalent themes include love or the lack of it, faith (she IS a recovering Southern Baptist) and, more recently, a country she loves but finds increasingly incomprehensible.
