Platt conceived, wrote, and produced this Emmy Award-winning documentary about the off-field life of football star Jason Kelce, which became the most-watched film in Amazon history.
In September 2015, Platt founded The Philadelphia Citizen, a non-profit, nonpartisan, multi-platform news organization focusing on solutions-oriented journalism, with a growing, influential audience of 1.2 million local patriots.
Platt is the author of numerous books, including New Jack Jocks: Rebels, Race and the American Athlete (Temple 2002), Keepin’ It Real: A Turbulent Season at the Crossroads with the NBA (Avon, 1998), Only The Strong Survive: The Odyssey of Allen Iverson (Regan, 2002). Platt co-authored Every Day I Fight (2015), the New York Times bestselling memoir of ESPN sportscaster and cancer fighter Stuart Scott. Platt has contributed to the New York Times Magazine, GQ, Playboy, New York magazine, Sports Illustrated, and Salon.com.
