Screening & Discussion: “In Old Arizona (1928)”

A vintage movie poster for the 1929 "100% All-Talking" film "In Old Arizona." The central illustration features an ornate-jacketed vaquero with a gun drawn facing off against a cowboy, with a woman dramatically placed in their embrace. Prominent text includes the title "IN OLD ARIZONA," the names of stars Edmund Lowe, Warner Baxter, and Dorothy Burgess, and the tagline "Two Men and a Senorita in a Rodeo Of Love."

Screening & Discussion: “In Old Arizona (1928)”

A charming, happy-go-lucky bandit in old Arizona plays cat-and-mouse with the sheriff, trying to catch him while he romances a local beauty. The first Western with sound-film featured an all-Movietone soundtrack thanks to the work of the Case Research Lab! Andrew Patrick Nelson, Chief Curator of Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, will join us virtually as our moderator to introduce the film and lead a Q&A afterwards.

Admission to this program is free, although donations are greatly appreciated.

This film is part of the “Into the Sunset” Western Film Series at the Cayuga Museum.
