This week: Sarcoidosis, nutrition during cancer treatment, more

People with the inflammatory disease known as sarcoidosis need an experienced doctor overseeing their care, as well as social supports, according to Upstate pulmonologist Birendra Sah.

In this "HealthLink on Air" podcast, Sah explains why people with this complicated disease generally do better when they receive care from experts. He also unveils a new Sarcoidosis Support Group of Central New York, which has its first virtual meeting on April 22. Find the group on Facebook, or send an email to SarcoCentralNY@gmail.com

Also this week, Dr. Kaushal Nanavati and psychologist Usha Satish tell about the impact of light on wellness and productivity. And, Katie Krawcyzk, the registered dietitian at the Upstate Cancer Center, addresses how a person's overall nutritional needs might shift during cancer treatment. She also provides advice about eating when you're not hungry, what to do about mouth sores, and tricks that can help with diarrhea and constipation. Listen this Sunday, April 18 at 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. for more.
