Onondaga County Legislators Dave Knapp and Mary Kuhn on the Campbell Conversations

Counties in New York must redraw their county legislative districts in accordance with the 2020 U.S. Census results. In Onondaga County, lawmakers passed a district map that many people have said was rushed and politicized. This week, Grant Reeher speaks with Onondaga County Legislature Chairman Dave Knapp, a Republican, and County Legislator Mary Kuhn, a Democrat, to talk about the redistricting process in Onondaga County.

*Note: This conversation was recorded before the Onondaga County Legislature voted to approve the Republican-drawn map

Grant Reeher is Director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute and a professor of political science at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is also creator, host and program director of “The Campbell Conversations” on WRVO, a weekly regional public affairs program featuring extended in-depth interviews with regional and national writers, politicians, activists, public officials, and business professionals.
