Syracuse, NY – Ann Marie Buerkle has had a big year in 2010. She's gone from being a long shot candidate to being the Congresswoman-elect in New York's 25th Congressional District.

The Tea Party-backed Buerkle is one member of a new class of congressional representatives touting fiscal conservatism and a goal of reforming Washington.

She says she's proud to be a member of the new class.

"There are eighty-three new members coming in to this freshman class," she says. "We are a large block of the Congress, which will give us, certainly, some power and some role in decision-making, which I think will be good for us and certainly for our districts."

Buerkle has been named to three committees in the new Congress. She says her primary goals are to help create jobs and improve the U.S. economy.

She says she also plans to make constituent services a major part of her work in Congress, and she says she would encourage residents of the 25th district to get in touch with her office if they have any concerns or complaints to address.
