Infant sleep and non-addictive pain relief

Upstate's Healtlink on Air episode for April 27, 2025

What can you do to help your infant sleep well? Pediatric pulmonologist Dr. Zafer Soultan shares some advice about what's normal and what may signal a sleep disorder in this week's episode of "HealthLink on Air." He is the chief of pediatric pulmonary medicine at Upstate and the director of the Upstate Pediatric Sleep Center.

Also this week, lots of people with short-term pain are concerned about becoming addicted to opioid pain medications. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new non-opioid prescription pill called suzetrigine that is said to be non-addictive. Anesthesiologist Dr. Vandana Sharma shares what's important to know. She is the Director of Pain Management Services at Upstate.

Listen to Healthlink on Air every Sunday at 6 a.m. on WRVO.
