Take the time to give back this holiday season on Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration on Tuesday, December 1. Found on Twitter with the hashtag #GivingTuesday, the day kicks off the charitable season. You've likely heard of Black Friday, maybe even Plaid Friday, and Cyber Monday -- so why not try Giving Tuesday this year? Celebrate giving and philanthropy with a donation to WRVO Public Media.

We're planning for the future at WRVO, thinking of the best ways to bring you the best programming, regional news and stories from NPR. In the past year alone, we've hired two new full-time reporters (Tom Magnarelli and Payne Horning) who bring you stories straight out of your community. Staff members at WRVO in various departments are constantly evaluating the best way to serve our listeners.

Make a difference with a donation to WRVO on #GivingTuesday, December 1, 2015.

Have you donated to WRVO yet, for your daily or weekly listening? Consider making your mark on Giving Tuesday this year. After the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, after the turkey's settled and the family is packed and on their way -- sit down and think about how we've impacted your life -- and donate.

Don't forget to show your support on social media, use the hashtags #GivingTuesday on Twitter and Instagram. Or post your #UNselfie during the day. You can even find information about Giving Tuesday on Facebook. People are making a difference around the world, all in the name of supporting charity and donations.
