Breaking Stalking Basics - Empowering Local Communities

In recognition of the 20th Annual National Stalking Awareness Month, Breaking Stalking founder Stefania Ianno is offering the community a free, 1 hour presentation on stalking awareness and prevention on Thursday, January 25 from 5:30 - 7pm at OneGroup in Syracuse.

Join us to learn about why it's important to be able to recognize and respond to stalking in your life and in the community.

This presentation is suitable for anyone, but can be particularly helpful to service agency workers, mental health workers, DV/SA advocates, parents, business owners and executives, college students, and high school/university faculty and staff.

The presentation will cover the following:
-Stalking definition, examples and statistics
-Breaking stalking myths
-Effects of stalking on different communities
-Stalking in pop culture
-Case studies
-Safety planning/documentation
-National and local resources
-Future implications
-Including time for Q&A!

After this presentation, people will be equipped with the ability to be proactive in identifying and responding to stalking which are the first steps to getting help!
