Tempest comes to the Night Eagle Cafe

Night Eagle Productions welcomes Tempest to the Night Eagle at the Savage Club and Lansing Area Performance Hall in North Lansing on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 pm.

Since forming in 1988, Tempest has delivered a globally renowned hybrid of high-energy folk rock while fusing Irish reels, Scottish ballads, Norwegian influences, and other world music elements. The last 30-plus years have seen the San Francisco Bay Area-based act release 18 critically acclaimed albums and play more than 2,500 gigs. The current line-up of the band features all the original members performing a variety of selections from the band's extensive repertoire, all sparking with vitality and energy.

Tempest is regularly featured at prestigious festivals such as The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and has also appeared at Denmark's Skagen Festival, Britain's Cropredy Festival, and The Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada. The band is a mainstay at countless American Celtic and modern folk festivals as well.

The tremendous energy that Tempest inspires you to expend is staggering…one of the best live shows I’ve seen in years. – Dirty Linen Magazine

Tempest rocks, all right, but its forte is folk-rock with a decidedly Celtic accent, drawing on traditions stretching back hundreds of years. – Chicago Tribune
