North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-Schuylerville) signed onto a brief filed by 106 members of Congress Thursday in favor of a legal effort by Texas to overturn the results of the presidential election.

Texas is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to block results from four swing states that voted for President-Elect Joe Biden, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The move is an unprecedented challenge to the results of an American election after all 50 states and Washington have certified their presidential results.

There’s no evidence of widespread voter fraud and courts have already dismissed numerous cases alleging irregularities brought by the Trump campaign.

Stefanik has repeatedly touted gains for GOP women in House races this year while avoiding acknowledgment of President-elect Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris, the first woman to assume the role.
