WRVO Public Media is looking for motivated students who would like to intern this fall and/or next spring.
We need help in the news/online division, particularly for our locally-produced health and wellness show Take Care. Each week, our hosts interview leaders in the field, researchers from the nation's top hospitals, even experts at the Mayo Clinic, to bring our listeners the latest in health and wellness. Your task is to work on our production team to help generate our web content. We produce full web build-outs for each segment of the show, including pictures, text and audio. It's not academic writing, it's a bit more personal -- like an article you'd find in a health magazine, or blog. You'll learn some basic audio editing skills, and work closely with our news director to perfect your writing and journalism chops.
If you're a self-starter with advanced writing skills and an interest in health and wellness topics, let us know! You can apply today by filling out an application (available on this page) and sending it to Leah Landry, or dropping it off at the station. We're located on the SUNY Oswego campus in Penfield Library, across from the 24-hour room on the first floor.
We also have internships in production and news!
