"With Good Reason" comes to Saturday mornings, Sunday evenings on WRVO

A few changes are coming to the weekend lineup on WRVO Public Media this year.

First, we welcome a new show to Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings out of Virginia. "With Good Reason" examines a wide range of topics with leading scholars. Any given week, you may discover the traditions of the samurai warrior, hear about the ways we pre-judge others based on their accents, or laugh at the surprising history of Hawaiian shirts. Aloha!

You can hear "With Good Reason" Saturdays at 6 a.m. and Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Past guests have included Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison, so you don't want to miss out.

This means a slight change for "The Campbell Conversations," as well. The morning airing of the show is shifting to 6:30 a.m. on Saturdays. That's where you'll be able to hear Grant Reeher interview local and national politicians, activists, public officials and more.

On Sunday evening "The Campbell Conversations" remains at 6 p.m.

If you're a regular listener to WRVO on the weekends, you've probably noticed that something is missing. "Take Care" is now being produced in a new, longer format. That means more information about new studies; more conversations with leading experts in health from institutions, hospitals and clinics across the nation; more insights from those dealing with and overcoming health issues; and news features from reporters covering health and wellness.

We'll keep you updated on when to hear "Take Care" next. There will be 12 of these longer episodes throughout the year. We anticipate the first late January or early February. In the first show, we're exploring giving with a health and wellness lens. You'll hear from the CEO of Smile Train, a local blood donor who's donated over 200 times, and from a company on the forefront of technology for the blind.
