The Great New York State Model Train Fair

The Great New York State Model Train Fair
The Great New York State Model Train Fair (www.modeltrainfair.com) will take place for the 47th year, on November 5 (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and November 6 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.) 2022 at the New York State Fairgrounds’ new Expo Center building. This is the largest model train show in New York state and one of the largest shows in the northeastern U.S. The show offers over 25 operating model train layouts, 75 vendors, and an indoor rideable train for kids of all ages.
For 47 years, it has been proven to be a popular family event that has regularly drawn around 6,000 attendees over the 2-day event. All children (age 15 and under) are admitted without charge so they can be introduced to a worthwhile hobby that is educational, creative, and can be enjoyed with their parents. Adults are $10 and there is plenty of free parking.
The event is a fund-raiser for the Central New York Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (www.cnynrhs.org), a not-for-profit 501c3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic railroad cars, locomotives, and train stations historically relevant to the Central New York community. One of those historic train exhibits is at the New York State Fairgrounds. The two historic train stations include the Martisco Station Museum in Marcellus, and the Central Square Station Museum in Central Square.
