This week: Breast cancer basics, suicide prevention, chemotherapy side effects

Approximately one in eight women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. On this week's "HealthLink on Air," Dr. Ranjna Sharma discusses how the disease is diagnosed, treatment options and risk factors.

Sharma is the chief of breast surgery and medical director of the breast cancer program at Upstate.

Also this week, psychiatrist Seetha Ramanathan and Dr. Jay Carruthers from the state Office of Mental Health discuss suicide prevention. And, scientist William Kerr talks about research to improve the side effects of chemotherapy. Tune in this Sunday, February 9 at 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. for "HealthLink on Air."
