Part I: Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner on the Campbell Conversations

In recent months Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner has been an evangelist for fiscal sustainability and a clear-eyed look at the financial challenges facing the city. Before that she was a town crier regarding the Destiny project.

In this conversation, the first of a two-part discussion, she talks about the city's financial challenges, their origins, and what might be done about them. She also reflects back on the Destiny saga, its likely future effects, and the sometimes odd current discussions about how it all could have happened.

Grant Reeher is Director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute and a professor of political science at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is also creator, host and program director of “The Campbell Conversations” on WRVO, a weekly regional public affairs program featuring extended in-depth interviews with regional and national writers, politicians, activists, public officials, and business professionals.
