We hope you'll spend time with us this year, either by listening or at one of our special events. Our service remains strong because of your support and that of organizations and businesses in our community. Here's to the next 50 years of regional news, the latest from NPR, insightful stories and some laughs on the weekend!

Join us in June for an open house to celebrate 50 years of public radio

We're welcoming members, listeners and SUNY Oswego alumni to the station this June to say thank you for your support over the past 50 years. Come to enjoy light refreshments, tours and to mingle with staff, friends and alumni of WRVO on Saturday, June 8 from 2 - 5 p.m.

While our doors are always "open" to the public, this is the first open house we've held at our SUNY Oswego studios in over a decade! Take advantage of this unique opportunity to see where the magic happens and meet the people who bring you WRVO each and every day -- from engineers and sales reps to hosts and reporters. Past and current hosts of "Morning Edition" and other programs will be in attendance. You can even record a listener testimonial during the event!

Do you have WRVO memories, photos or memorabilia? Would you like to share them with us? Email Pam Cantine at pam@wrvo.org by May 17.

Our open house occurs during alumni weekend at the college, so if you happen to be an alumni of WRVO and SUNY Oswego, be sure to check out the other events they're offering during the weekend.

You're all a part of our history and we look forward to seeing you in June.

Directions: We're located on SUNY Oswego's campus at 7060 State Route 104 in Oswego, NY. You can find us on the bottom floor of Penfield Library, off of Rudolph Road. Our main entrance is on the west side of the building, facing Lanigan Hall. Parking is available in two lots close by (including handicap spaces) -- labeled E-1 and E-31.

Note: There is some construction on sidewalks surrounding the building where WRVO is located.

  • If you park in Lot E-1 (by the lake), you will be able to walk up the paved sidewalks, cross the street and enter on the west side of Penfield Library (next to Lanigan Hall, which looks almost identical).
  • If you park in the lot between Penfield Library and the campus center (labeled E-31), you will have to follow signs to the front entrance of the library, which is on the south side of the building. From there, take a left before the main circulation desk and walk through the 24 hour room. Continue walking through the narrow hallway -- through one door -- until you get to WRVO's main entrance. It will be open for the duration of the open house, so feel free to come on in!
