Have a lesson in the authentic 1887 schoolhouse, try your hand at traditional games and activities, and explore the beautiful grounds. The Lorenzo Driving Competition invites you to meet the miniature horses wearing costumes, and Jason the Fjord horse disguised as a pumpkin! Tour Lorenzo’s rarely seen carriage storage, coloring pages for the kids, light refreshments, and more. The NYS Draft Horse club will be on-site, offering wagon rides! Admission is free.

In this six-session series, students will learn about the versatile drawing medium of charcoal. From its wide range of expressive possibilities to its intricate shading and texture potential, charcoal has a little bit for everyone. The class will focus on a wipe out technique working in a step-by-step process using layers to capture a full range of dynamic lighting in students’ artwork.

Join us for a special tour of Lorenzo featuring the death and funerary practices of the Victorian era. Mortality rates were high in the 19th century, and death and mourning rituals were elaborate. We’ll keep the lights low as we share everything from the mundane to the macabre about death in the Victorian era. Admission free.
