Wayne County has its first confirmed case of coronavirus

Wayne County is reporting its first confirmed case of coronavirus. The county’s department of public health says it’s a Wayne County resident who has been in a short-stay rehabilitation at DeMay Living Center in Newark.

The person is currently being isolated at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and is being monitored by Wayne County Public Health.

The health department is conducting routine racing of the patient’s contacts. There’s no information being released on the patient’s condition.

Officials says that the DeMay Living Center and Newark-Wayne Community Hospital have been following state health department guidelines to keep patients, residents and staff safe.
