What questions do you have for Syracuse's mayoral candidates?

WRVO Public Media
Top row: Thomas Babilon (R), Khalid Bey (D) Bottom Row: Janet Burman (R), Michael Greene (D), Ben Walsh (I)

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is running for reelection this year. He's the first independent candidate to win a mayoral election in nearly a century, but this year he has plenty of competition. Democrats Khalid Bey and Michael Greene, and Republicans Janet Burman and Thomas Babilon are all challenging the incumbent mayor. A June 22 primary will determine who will run against Walsh in November.

WRVO's Madison Ruffo is planning to sit down with all five candidates ahead of the primary. To make sure she asks questions that really capture the key issues for the Syracuse community, we want to hear from you. Below is a survey where you can tell us what you want to hear from each mayoral candidate and which issues are the most pressing to you.

Madison Ruffo received a Master’s Degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, where she specialized in audio and health/science reporting. Madison has extensively covered the environment, local politics, public health, and business. When she’s not reporting, you can find Madison reading, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
