Sarah Compo Pierce will be the next mayor of Watertown. Unofficial results from the Jefferson County Board of Elections show Compo Pierce received almost 70% of the vote, while her opponent, City Councilwoman Lisa Ruggiero received nearly 30%.

Max Ruckdeschel, chair of the Onondaga County Democratic Committee, said while they were disappointed about the race for County Executive, he thinks Democrats did well county wide, noting Marty Masterpole's reelection to county comptroller and Democratic wins for both family court seats.

McMahon was elected to his second full term as County Executive, while Fitzpatrick was elected to his ninth term as District Attorney.

According to the New York State Board of Elections, just over 3% of voters cast their ballots during early voting, which ended Sunday.
