In this eight-week series, students will learn the foundational skills for throwing pots on the wheel. They will learn centering, basic throwing techniques, trimming, glazing, and more to begin their journey with clay. While this class is geared toward beginners, students who have some introductory skills that they wish to expand on are welcome. In this six-session series, students will learn about the versatile drawing medium of charcoal. From its wide range of expressive possibilities to its intricate shading and texture potential, charcoal has a little bit for everyone. The class will focus on a wipe out technique working in a step-by-step process using layers to capture a full range of dynamic lighting in students’ artwork.

Fiber artists of all kinds are invited to join us for a weekend of creativity at our biannual retreat. You will have full access to both of our spacious studios: our sewing studio and our dye/wet studio. Lunch is complimentary. Just bring yourself and your work!

The Friends of Lorenzo will showcase the bedecked Mansion for A Victorian Holiday. This year, our amazing volunteer decorators have taken their inspiration from Lorenzo itself! Join us for A Victorian Holiday at Lorenzo! Built in 1807, Lorenzo has been restored to its 1890-1930 time period, which has inspired this year’s theme. Our amazing decorators will be going all out with Victorian Christmas charm and décor! Look for traditional glass ornaments, paper chains, popcorn and cranberry strands, lace, beads and more. With support from the Friends of Lorenzo, this annual holiday celebration will feature refreshments, live music, and horse-drawn sleigh/wagon rides. Event admission: Adults $6.00, Children 12 and under $2.00.
