New York congressional primary results: Deacon, Tenney victorious

Today is primary day for congressional races. Voters in central New York will be going to the polls for two races:

  • 22nd Congressional District Republicans will choose who will run to fill the seat of retiring Rep. Richard Hanna (R-Barneveld). The winner will run against Democrat Kim Myers, who does not have a primary opponent. The 22nd District includes all or part of eight counties stretching from central New York to the Southern Tier.
  • 24th Congressional District Democrats will choose who will run against incumbent Rep. John Katko (R-Camillus), who does not have a primary opponent. The 24th District includes Onondaga, Cayuga and Wayne Counties, and the western part of Oswego County.
