Sommer Hill
Sommer Hill (she/her) is a social media associate for NPR Extra. She started with NPR in May 2021. Her primary responsibilities include managing the social media accounts for NPR Extra as well as creating blog posts for NPR.org. In her time at NPR, Hill has worked on many projects including the Tiny Desk Contest, the How I Built This Summit, creating a resource page for Juneteenth material, participating in the 'What Juneteenth Means To Me' video and contributing to WOC/POC meetings.
Before NPR, Hill worked with BET as an associate producer and production assistant, NBC in the NBCU Page Program and CBS as an Associate Production Coordinator. She graduated from the illustrious Howard University in 2019 receiving her degree in media, journalism and film and a minor in Spanish. She graduated magna cum laude.
Hill is proudly from St. Louis but has lived in 3 different countries and 8 cities. She has a very deep passion for diversity and inclusion and actively seeks to make any environment she's in more safe and inclusive for everyone. She loves meeting and learning from new people, book suggestions and outdoor activities.
