Your Chance to Pie Some Cayuga Celebrities!

From Jan. 7-21, the United Way of Cayuga County is offering the community a fun (and slightly messy!) way to give back. Participants can purchase chances for the opportunity to pie a United Way "celebrity."

Dollars = Chances to Pie!

• $10: 1 chance
• $25: 3 chances
• $50: 10 chances
• $100: 25 chances

Pie Targets Unlocked at These Fundraising Levels:

• $10,000: Brian Jessie, campaign co-chair and Auburn fire lieutenant
• $8,000: Tarina McQueeney, Wegmans store manager
• $6,000: Tracy Verrier, board president
• $4,000: Lisa Kaminski, executive director
• $2,000: Julisa Stone-Szpaicher, campaign and marketing manager

One person will be drawn to pie the United Way celebrities. Winners will be drawn via Facebook Live on National Pie Day, Friday, Jan. 23. Pie-ing winners will be contacted to schedule a date and time to pie their selected United Way celebrity.

This year, the Victorian Lady antique shop in Oneida is on a mission to collect and distribute warm winter coats and accessories to help neighbors facing hardship during these difficult times.

“If you would like to help make someone's winter a little warmer, we would be most grateful!” says Ms. Gerri Gray, the shop’s proprietor. “We are holding the coat drive throughout the fall and winter.” She added, “We also plan to host a few food giveaways, so if anyone wishes to donate any canned food (including pet food) and/or other non-perishable items, they can bring them to the shop during our regular business hours or simply leave them on our front porch.”

Donations of new and gently-used coats, scarves, and gloves are being accepted every Monday and Saturday from noon until 5 p.m. and on all other days by appointment only. The shop, which was featured on Lite 98.7, is located at 302 Main Street, Oneida, NY (at the corner of Stone).

The United Way of Cayuga County is kicking off the year with its January Online Monthly Raffle. This month’s bundle is curated for coffee enthusiasts and includes:

• Two MacKenzie-Childs travel mugs
• Simple Roast Mocha Java Espresso Blend coffee
• A set of two “Coffee Loves You” coasters
• Coffee-themed home décor

Raffle Details:

• Tickets: Five tickets for $5 or 15 tickets for $10.
• Timeline: The raffle is open now through Jan. 31. A winner will be drawn on Feb. 2.
• Enter: Tickets can be purchased online at the United Way Givesmart page.

The raffle items were donated by Cayuga County Tourism. All proceeds benefit the United Way of Cayuga County’s 2025-2026 campaign.
